LF's IRC Channel

Alright everyone. We need an official chat room so I set one up.

all you need is an irc client which you ca get at www.mirc.com

then you just open the server irc.gamesurge.net
and the channel #legendsforums

to do this, you hit the connect button, and find the gamesurge.net server. You then type /join legendsforums and you will be in!

try it out!!!

6. For ident, type in something like “asd”
7. For real name, it can just be what your alias is (it does not have to be your real name in other terms) and then click on next
8. For default server, type this in: irc.legendsforums.net, and click on next
9. This page, you can fool around with the wallpaper and background, but for now skip it (click on next)
10. Keep the default boxes enabled and click on next
11. Enable the “Channels” box and click next
12. Read over this page and then click finish

Using the Program Part 2
1. You should know have the program in view
2. Click on file and go to configuration
3. Your settings should be something like this:

4. Press ctrl+s to start a new connection
5. Click on the connect button in the upper left hand corner of this new window
6. You should now be connected to the chat
7. Fool around with more settings in the configuration page if you want

Congratulations, you are now able to chat with other LFers on this IRC channel.

Another chat thing? I really don't see the point in these when we have the shoutbox and instant messengers.

Its an alternative to Gabbly. I think that its a good idea to have a community place to chat other than the game lobby, but I hate gabbly so I suggest IRC.

people see that as going to far, and we dont have a host for that stuff. I suggest we stick to this, see how it goes.

I just tried it, Gabbly is better. Zack only likes it because he is mod of the chat thing. However, with Gabbly, once you register your name, noone else can be you.
